What is a monochrome look? The word “monochromatic” breaks down into two pieces: “mono” meaning single and “chromatic” meaning color. A monochromatic look will consist of pieces of one color.
This classic trend is the easiest way to elevate any look. Whether it’s a bold red, subtle pink, or my go-to color pallet, neutrals, pulling together a look has never been easier. Here are a few tips to remember when wearing monochrome this season:
1. Don’t Worry About An Exact Match.
It’s true, especially when it comes to pairing separates, monochrome looks don’t have to be the exact shades to make the look work. You want to come as close as possible to the tones matching, but have fun with the tone being off a shade or two.
2. Mix Textures.
Another must and a great way to bring fun into your monochrome look. Plan around with different textures such as lace, ruffles, or even crochet. This also applies to different fabrics like pairing all-white jeans with a silk blouse or cargo pants and a cotton top.
3. Have Fun!
The most important tip. It’s fashion, have fun play around with many looks. Wear what makes you comfortable and have fun!
